Equipment Loan

Our equipment loan program provides free crutches, walkers, canes and wheelchairs to residents of Henrietta, Chili, Scottsville, Wheatland and Caledonia at no charge.

Important Notes

  • You must be a resident of Henrietta, Chili, Scottsville, Wheatland or Caledonia to borrow from us
  • There is no charge for this service
  • We do not offer commodes, shower chairs, beds, lifts, power wheelchairs or any other type of medical equipment

Crutches, Walkers, Canes

To borrow one of these items, simply stop in to our headquarters and sign them out. We will request your name, telephone number and zip code. You may keep these items for as long as you need. However, we do ask that you kindly return them in a prompt fashion when you’re done so that others can benefit from this great service. Again, there is no charge to sign out these items.

You may contact us at (585) 334-4190 prior to coming in to check the availability of items. Regrettably, we cannot guarantee the availability of any one item at a certain time. Depending on availability, we may hold an item for you over the phone for 24-48 hours.

Wheelchairs

Stop in to our headquarters to sign out a wheelchair. Due to the high value of these items, we closely track the distribution within the community. Each wheelchair is tagged with a unique ID number so we’re able to appropriately track their location.

If you’re interested in a wheelchair, we recommend calling ahead to check availability (585-334-4190). They are first come, first served. Unfortunately, we cannot hold or reserve a wheelchair.

Wheelchairs may be signed out for a maximum of 6 weeks. They are required to be returned to us after 6 weeks so that other residents can benefit from their use. When signing out a wheelchair, we require a valid form of ID/NYS license showing a Henrietta, Chili, Scottsville, Wheatland or Caledonia address. We will photocopy your ID and keep it on file along with your telephone number.

Should you need a wheelchair for longer than 6 weeks, we recommend contacting your primary physician’s office for recommendations. They may be able to guide you in the right direction and/or write you a prescription for a wheelchair that may be covered under your medical insurance policy. Other local organizations that provide wheelchairs include Monroe Wheelchair, American Homepatient, Westside Medical Chairs and Southside Medical Supply.

Donations

We accept donations to our loan closet including new or gently used wheelchairs, crutches, canes and walkers. Your donation is tax deductible. We would be happy to provide you with a receipt when making your donation. To donate, visit our headquarters any time and come to the main entrance.

We do not accept donations of commodes, shower chairs, beds, lifts or any other type of medical equipment.
