Henrietta, NY, March 27, 2009 — CHS Healthcare today announced it is the recipient of the
“Agency of the Year” award for 2008 from the STEP Council of the Monroe-Livingston Region. The award was announced and recognized at the annual STEP banquet on March 20.
The honor is a testament of CHS Healthcare’s dedication to serving the residents of Henrietta and surrounding towns with emergency medical services provided by its 85 members. In addition to providing the best possible pre-hospital care to all patients, the agency was also recognized for:
- Continuous, prompt response to 911 calls based on a nationally accepted standard
- Ongoing training of all members in the latest technologies and protocols contributing to excellent patient care
- High availability of resources to respond to 97% of its 5,200 requests for service via 911 in 2008
- Partnering with the Rush-Henrietta School District for a career internship program with local students
- Implementing a comprehensive quality assurance committee which involves all areas of public safety including the fire department, nursing staff, physicians and community professionals
- Participation in various research studies in conjunction with Strong Memorial Hospital
- Partnering with neighboring EMS and fire agencies to streamline and coordinate inter-agency activities and training
In addition, two of CHS Healthcare’s members were recognized as “Providers of the Year” for the
Monroe-Livingston region. Brian Bartolick was awarded Advanced Life Support Provider of the Year for 2008 based on his work as a full-time Paramedic with the agency. Hardy Schulz was acknowledged at the annual awards ceremony as Basic Life Support Provider of the Year for 2008 thanks to his work as an
Emergency Medical Technician with CHS Healthcare in 2008. Both Mr. Bartolick and Mr. Schulz are long-time and well-respected EMS providers within the community.
