CHS Healthcare EMT Awarded New York State Provider of the Year

Henrietta NY, July 22, 2012 — CHS Healthcare announced today that Captain/EMT Matt Jarrett has been awarded Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider of the Year for New York State. Matt was nominated by his peers and was recently honored with the local Monroe-Livingston award in March. From there, his nomination was sent to the state level and the announcement was made on July 13.

The award is a testament of Matthew’s dedication to serving the residents of Henrietta and surrounding communities with the very best emergency medical care. “Matt has been with us for a number of years and we respect him as both a colleague and fellow medical provider. EMS is a blend of operational understanding, hands-on medical care and compassion. I really can’t think of someone who does a better job embodying each of these qualities each and every day,” said Chris Murtaugh, Public Information Officer.

Matt has been full-time with CHS Healthcare since 2005 and now serves as an Operations Captain. His career in public safety started in 1993 when he joined the Scottsville Ambulance Explorer post. As he got older, he began volunteering for the Scottsville fire department and ambulance. He now serves as Chief of Scottsville Ambulance in addition to his full-time role at CHS Healthcare.

Matt will be presented with the award from New York State at the annual Vital Signs Conference in October 2012 in Syracuse, NY.
