Henrietta NY, November 2, 2012 — An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) from CHS Healthcare was recently awarded with statewide recognition as Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Of The Year. Matthew Jarrett was nominated by his peers and was recently honored with the same local Monroe-Livingston award in March. From there, his nomination was sent to New York State and the announcement was made on July 13 that he was selected as the single recipient of the prestigious award for 2012.
Matthew has been full-time with CHS Healthcare since 2005 and now serves as an Operations Captain. His career in public safety started in 1993 when he joined the Scottsville Ambulance Explorer post. As he got older, he began volunteering for the Scottsville fire department and ambulance. He now serves as Chief of Scottsville Ambulance in addition to his full-time role at CHS Healthcare.
Mr. Jarrett received the award on October 20 at the annual EMS Vital Signs Conference in Syracuse, NY.
