Henrietta, NY, June 10, 2013 — CHS Healthcare (HVA) announced today the donation of two pieces of computer equipment to Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance. The 100% volunteer agency located in Hoboken, NJ was hit hard in the recent “super storm” hurricane Sandy. HVA donated two used Panasonic Toughbook laptops to the agency who is continuing to rebuild its infrastructure since the storm hit six months ago. The agency lost two of its ambulances in the storm and sustained severe water damage to numerous other pieces of equipment.
HVA had recently upgraded the laptops to a newer model and was approached by Hoboken regarding the possibility of donating to the agency who has 150 volunteers and handles 5,000 calls each year. Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance will begin using the laptops as the state of New Jersey begins to mandate the use of electronic charting for patient care.
